Healthy aging for women

-

Time signifies different things. For some people, it means opportunities for growth, rushing for deadlines or awaiting important events. But for those who are at the prime of their age, time can indicate an endless list of diseases that are about to come.

Keeping one’s health in mind is always important. But for women, the need to get fitter and eat healthier becomes more apparent as they age. The older women get, the more they become susceptible to diseases and other health challenges.

With the right tools and supportive health partners, one will be able to fight back aging— beautifully.

According to LH Prime Medical Clinic’s resident obstetrician, doctor Maria Teresa Pepito, “There are two major factors that contribute to the decrementing health of women: inactivity and unhealthy diets.” Fatty foods are generally recommended to be avoided. Pepito suggested for women to stick to low-fat and low-caloric diets which include leafy greens, fruits, legumes and white lean protein to be paired with a 30- to 45-minute fitness routine every day.

In addition to a balanced lifestyle, regular screenings, especially for breast and cervical cancer, should be included in every woman’s checklist.

“Health consciousness and regular checkups are most especially recommended for aging women. For menopausal women, it is vital for them to undergo annual screenings with their OBGYNS. For other diseases, it is important to have themselves checked with a medical internist.” said Pepito.

As every woman’s dedicated health partner, LH Prime Medical Clinic prides itself for its wide array of laboratory and diagnostic woman care services for cancer screenings and selection of medical physicians that will aid women in their journey to living a healthier life.

Every day is an opportunity to reevaluate and improve our health habits. This Women’s Month, start to age and live healthily by choosing a medical clinic and doctor that see your health needs as a prime priority. /
