CCCI TO HOLD RACE DURING CEBU BUSINESS MONTH

-

THE Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) will hold its “Lumba’g Laag Sa Sugbo—A Race to Cebu’s Hidden Attractions” during the Cebu Business Month (CBM) in June.

The tourism-adventure event is part of this year’s CBM, which carries the theme “Innovation in Action.” This will happen on June 21-23 in northern Cebu.

Organizers expect 25 teams with four members each, or a total of 100 participants, to join the three-day, two-night race. The racers are CCCI members and non-members, students, adventure enthusiasts, tourism organizations, local government units, tourism officers and other stakeholders.

The race aims to promote and showcase Cebu’s tourist attractions. “Lumba’g Laag Sa Sugbo is now on its third year. It continues to unravel the unexplored beauty of Cebu in terms of destinations, culture, food and heritage in an Amazing Race-inspired event,” said Edilberto Mendoza Jr., the race chairman and general manager of Level Up Events Consultancy.

CCCI has collaborated with Habagat Outdoor Equipment to come up with an innovative and challenging race that will be fit to be considered as one of the most anticipated events of CBM.

“This event is a perfect avenue for companies to participate and strengthen their teams and to make them more ready to face the challenging times ahead,” Mendoza said.

Registration fee is P25,000 per team. The fee covers the team’s two-night accommodation, meal provisions, two sets of jersey and race materials.

The team must be composed of four members with at least one of the opposite gender and one or two designated licensed drivers.

Big cash prizes await the winners. The champion will receive P100,000; first runner-up, P60,000; and second runner-up, P30,000.

Interested participants can register at the CCCI Centre, Corner Commerce and Industry Streets in the North Reclamation Area, Cebu City, or at any Habagat outlet. For further inquiries, the CBM Secretariat can be reached at landline and cell phone numbers 232-1423, 0916464-1747 and 0915-840-1274.
