28-story ‘BB Tower’ to rise along Gorordo

-

A NEW real estate player is erecting a 28-story tower on Gorordo Avenue corner Escario St., Cebu City.

Eight Star Land Development Corp. unveiled on Friday, Oct. 18, 2019, its maiden project named BB Tower, which is a new addition to Cebu’s thriving condominium-hotel (condotel) business.

Maybelle Ho-Padillo, president of Eight Star Land, said the construction of the building is expected to start in six months and will be completed within three years.

“It is a mixed-use development with three floors dedicated for food and beverage, ballroom halls and amenities like a swimming pool and sauna. Units from eighth floor up, will be condotel,” Padillo said.

According to Padillo, the design of the project will have a touch of Cebuano culture. It will also have integrated solar panels to reflect the company’s strong take on sustainability initiatives.

“Cebu has a huge potential and it’s something that you’ll never go wrong when you build projects here,” she said.

“We have to start with one, make it successful then move to another project,” Padillo added.

BB Tower, which will be built on a 2,000 square meter property, is targeted to be finished in time for the 500th anniversary commemoration of Christianity in the country, said Jully Padillo, the company’s vice president.

“Cebu is such a diverse place and since it will be one of the most celebrated places this 2021, we are praying that the project will be finished so that our function rooms will cater to most of the events celebrated on that year,” Jully said.

Jully said Eight Star Land has several projects in the pipeline that will be developed in Cebu.

Around 10,000 jobs, both direct and indirect, are expected to be generated for this maiden project.
