TAKE advantage of available technologies to further scale up your business.

This was what the officials of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (Rafi)-Microfinance advised the more than 200 micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) during the Entrepreneur’s Summit 2019 on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019.

“We hold this event to recognize them because most of them do their business, but they

don’t know that they are one among too many entrepreneurs helping out the community by growing their business and providing employment opportunities,” Ma. Therese Catipay, Rafi vice president for operations, said.

Catipay said the invited clients were growth-oriented ones, who are making their business grow from micro to small ventures.

“We bring in successful speakers so they can learn, get tips on how to manage their businesses and for us to recognize the best performing and outstanding clients,” she said.

With the theme “Embracing Technologies: Digital Transformation for MSMEs,” the summit brought clients across the different provinces in order for them to be inspired by the success stories of other social entrepreneurs, learn more about entrepreneurship and build networks with other entrepreneurs and possible business partners.

“As far as the organization is concerned, it will have a bigger impact now that our internal process is moving towards digitalization. We have to be able to provide them with up-to-date services which are faster and easier because they can now access it through automation,” she said.

Through technology, Catipay pointed out that sales of the MSMEs would enjoy a considerable increase with a market that is already within reach through the different social media platforms.

Rafi Microfinance Inc. is a program of the Rafi that is engaged in providing microfinance services to underprivileged entrepreneurs.

They are currently operating in the provinces of Biliran, Bohol, Cebu, Eastern Samar, Iloilo, Leyte, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Northern Samar, Siquijor and Southern Leyte, serving more than 352,000 households.
