Mandaue City Treasurer’s Office to be closed until Friday, July 3, for disinfection after employee found to have Covid-2019

THE Mandaue City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) was placed on full lockdown after one of its staff tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

The full lockdown started on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, after the CTO received the swab result of the employee.

According to the official Facebook (FB) page of the CTO, the office will be closed until Friday, July 3, to facilitate comprehensive decontamination procedures.

The employee who tested positive has been admitted to one of the hospitals in Mandaue City.

City Treasurer Regal Oliva had advised the employee to undergo 14 days of home isolation on

June 24 after the latter developed some symptoms. Since then, the employee has not been reporting to the office.

All personnel with direct contact with the employee were also advised to undergo 14-day home isolation in line with the standard health protocol implemented in the city.

The function of the infected employee did not involve transacting with the public. The CTO has also been conducting contract tracing.

The CTO assured the public and taxpayers that the office has been following minimum health standards, while limiting face-to-face transactions as much as possible.

The CTO also announced that it will continue to entertain queries through its official FB page.

The CTO will be open to the public on Monday, July 7, for taxpayers who are trying to beat tax deadlines, among other concerns.

It is reminding the public to always wear a face mask, strictly follow social distancing protocol and sanitize their hands.

The CTO employee who was found positive of Covid-19 is the second employee in Mandaue City Hall to test positive for the disease.

Last week, seven employees of the City Administrator’s Office, including the city administrator, got swabbed after one employee tested positive for Covid-19.

They all tested negative and have since returned to work.
