More troops deployed to secure Kadayawan
THE Army's 10th Infantry Division will send additional forces in Davao City for the week-long celebration of the Kadayawan sa Dabaw, which will kick-off next month.
10th ID spokesperson Rhyan Batchar said the division will add two companies, composed of about 100 troops, to Task Force (TF) Davao for Kadayawan.
Batchar said these additional troops will serve as reactionary forces in case of emergency situation. He added that they are always coordinating with TF Davao and police on security matter.
Batchar said though there are no specific threat monitored in Davao Eegion, particularly in the city, the military and police will still conduct security operations to prevent terrorists from entering here.
There will be more than 2,000 police and military personnel to be deployed in different areas during the Kadayawan, while around 3,000 civilian volunteers are on standby in case of emergency.
People are also reminded that carrying backpacks, wearing caps and sunglasses are strictly not allowed. They are also advised not to bring pointed umbrellas and canisters, and other pointed items that can harm. ICT
