- By Karina V. Cañedo

THE Commission on Election has called on new voters to register early in the remaining two days of the registration as this will not be extended by the poll body.

Election officer Reynne Joy Bullecer in a media interview yesterday said they will strictly follow the no extension policy given by the Comelec central office.

“Dapat musayo sila because kung late sila muari dili na sila makarehistro (They need to come early to register, because if they come in late, they cannot register anymore),” she said.

Bullecer said registration starts at exactly 8 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m.

Bullecer said so far third district got the biggest number of registrants as it is composed of 82 barangay while other districts, districts one and two only have less than forty barangays.

She added that they do not have any target as to how many will register until the deadline, but she said that at the the moment they will accept application for SK regis- tration (15-17) years old,

They are also accepting registration for new voters 18 years old and above and application for reactivation, change of name, correction of entries, inclusion in the Record in the Book of Voters, reinstatement of name in the list of voters, and change and correction.

“Last hour mana ilang batasan, saka kapag deadline na, diha pa sila mudagsa. Basta among karon hinay-hinay paman siya dili paman buylo, kung kaya lang, kayanon jud na namo kung naa sila (Mostly new voters, really want to do the registration in the last hour, they come in numbers when it is already the deadline. As of the today, we are seeing enough number of people, and if we can completely register all then why not for as long as they come here),” District 1 election assistant Argeo Felizarta said.
