Tagum inaugurates 30 infra projects
WHO said that marathon could only be attributed to sports?
The local government of Tagum proved that public service runs extra miles as 30 big infrastructure projects were formally inaugurated in 16 barangays across Tagum City, all of which were blessed in one day last July 26.
Tagum City Mayor Allan L. Rellon spearheaded the marathon of project blessing that consists of 12 road-asphalting projects; two asphalt overlays for basketball courts; eight road concreting, six rehabilitation and improvement of key areas in five barangays; installation of 27 posts for electrification of a rural area, and the construction of a multi -purpose pavement at the Tagum City National High School.
All infra projects cost a total of 20,241,831.37 pesos, funded both by the local and national governments, respectively. The barangays that benefitted the projects are Madaum, San Isidro, Canocotan, Visayan Village, San Miguel, Magugpo Poblacion, Magugpo South, Mankilam, Magugpo West, Cuambogan, Magugpo North, Magugpo East, Magdum, Pandapan, La Filipina, and Nueva Fuerza.
The successful completion of all infra projects were in direct supervision of the City Engineering Office headed by Engr. Roosevelt A. Corporal, through its Road Infrastructure Development Task Force (RIDTF) led by Engr. Adonis C. Fuerzas.
The task force, which was an initiative of Rellon, devotes attention to the expansion and development of infra projects, especially on roads, which are considered as a fundamental indicator in the continuing growth of the city.
Last year, the LGU recorded a 127% increase in its infra spending (81 million pesos greater than 2014) which earned Tagum its 4th place spot in terms of Infrastructure Development throughout the country on the component city category by the National Competitiveness Council this year.
