THE Jose Maria College (JMC) routed University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC), 10252, to keep its unbeaten slate as the 31st Kadayawan Inter-Collegiate Basketball Invitational Tournament resumed at the Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center yesterday.

Vincent Campo sank 19 points and Rodyard Noya added 12 to lead scoring for the JMC Kings while UIC's Lloyd Tolentino topscored with nine for a losing cause.

The Kings, thus, improved to a 2-0 win-loss card while UIC absorbed its first loss.

Multi-titled JMC leaned on its vast experience to secure the blowout victory in the cagefest sanctioned by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Region 11.

JMC head coach Rhoel Josol, in a postgame interview with Sun.Star Davao, said, "I am contented with my players' performance today. Maganda execution nila sa offense and defense kaya nakalamang," adding that they will work more on their defense in the next game as the league has strong teams like Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) Crusaders.

He also lauded UIC's efforts being a new team.

JMC will next see action on August 27.

The Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP)-sanctioned event is presented by the city government of Davao through the Sports Developmental DivisionCity Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO) as part of the 31st Kadayawan sa Dabaw Festival.
