Ex-BF nabbed for stealing

-

A 37-YEAR-OLD man was arrested for allegedly stealing from and threatening her ex-girlfriend in Barangay Duterte, Agdao District in Davao City on Monday morning.

The accused was identified as Lydio Amorin Lancian, a glass installer, and resident of the same place, while the victim was identified as Mary Joy España Perez, 23, a sales lady.

Initial investigation conducted by Sta. Ana police showed that Lancian was arrested in an entrapment operation at his house at around 11:15 a.m. on Monday.

This, after the complainant positively identified the suspect as the one who stole her phone while she was on her way home at Landmark Village in Panacan at 11 p.m. on Sunday.

According to Perez, Lancian grabbed her cellular phone as she was walking by Bolcan Street in Barangay Wilfredo Aquino.

Perez tried to retrieve her phone and was able to grab the suspect by his shirt. But she instead fell into a sewer canal, injuring herself. She had to be brought to the Southern Philippines Medical Center for first aid.

Perez said the suspect contacted her the following day through the phone of her friend, asking her to go alone to his boarding house so he could return the cellular phone he took.

The suspect also threatened the victim that something will happen if she goes to the boarding house with somebody, Perez said. She sought the help of the police, anyway.

Recovered from the possession of the suspect was an Oppo phone worth P5,000. The suspect is now detained at the Sta. Ana Police Station pending proper disposition.
