Kidapawan farmers get P6.4 million aid from DA
KIDAPAWAN City - Farm operations are expected to be more efficient and harvest to be better for farmers in Kidapawan City.
This after they received more than P6.4 million worth of farm machineries, equipment and supplies from the Department of Agriculture on Sunday.
Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol led the turnover ceremony last August 20 as part of the City’s Kasadya sa Timpupo celebration.
Handed out at the event were 2 hand tractors with power tillers, 4 treshers, 1 four-wheel drive tractor, 2 floating tillers, 20 knapsack sprayers, 10 shallow tube wells, 1,000 bags of Urea, 20 heifers, and 2 bulls.
Piñol said the assistance to local farmers is line with the efforts of the Duterte administration to advance the welfare of the farmers all over the country.
He added that the aid should enable farmers in the area improve their productivity.
More help are coming, he promised.
At the event, Piñol also announced that beginning in 2017, farmers will not anymore pay for irrigation services.
