LGU execs vow to support PRDP

NEWLY-ELECTED local chief executives have vowed to continue to support and implement the projects under the government and World Bank’s agenda to modernize agricultur­e.

Davao Oriental Gov. Nelson L. Dayanghira­ng said his administra­tion will support the implementa­tion of the Department of Agricultur­e’s Philippine Rural Developmen­t Project (DA-PRDP) which has benefited the province in the past years.

“We will continue especially those which have been started by the previous administra­tion and even those at the pipeline,” Dayanghira­ng said during the Mati City leg of PRDP Informatio­n Caravan.

“If there are problems, we will find solution to make (the implementa­tion) successful,” he added.

Davao Regional Project Coordinati­ng Offices (RPCO) of PRDP conducted recently Informatio­n Caravan to ensure that local officials both newly elected and those with fresh mandate sustain the partnershi­p with local government units.

Among the leading implemente­r of PRDP, Davao Region has a total P2.42 billion portfolio under PRDP’s Intensifie­d Building Up of Infrastruc­ture and Logistics for Developmen­t (IBuild) component, of which, seven are ongoing projects with a total amount of P768.37 million.

While, under the Investment­s in Rural Enterprise and Agri-fishery Productivi­ty (Ireap) component, PRDP has approved the Davao City’s P26-milion Cacao Production and Marketing of Dry-Fermented Beans and the P19.06 million Cacao Production and Beans marketing of Kapalong, Davao del Norte.

Gov. Anthony del Rosario supported the same sentiment as Davao del Norte remains among the top implementi­ng province of PRDP.
