Guv Cagas sees bright hope anew
DIGOS City – After serving 22 months in jail, Governor Douglas Cagas has gained freedom through bail and is pinning hope that the temporary liberty becomes final as he considers that service to the people is far more important than anything else.
Speaking before the crowd of capitol employees and visitors last Aug. 22, the governor told the audience that the present administration aims to strongly push for a foundation that is marked by increased access to education, health services, agriculture, peace and order and poverty reduction programs.
In the fight against proliferation of illegal drugs, Cagas has urged that the PNP Director should be as committed like him in pursuing effective measures against drug menace on the ground.
He believes that combined efforts of the Provincial Local Government Unit, City Government and non-government organizations could be a strategic partnership when the situation calls to put up a drug rehabilitation center.
The returning governor recalled his moments of solitude in jail and was contemplating that God must have a purpose why the circumstance allowed it to happen.
Now that the twist of circumstance has favored him, the governor sees bright hope anew and this is serving the people, giving them access to opportunities, improve their level of well-being and promote the rights of the vulnerable sectors.
