Trisikad driver, minor charged with robbery

A trisikad driver and a minor were charged before the City Prosecutio­n Office yesterday after being involved in a robbery incident at Agdao Public Market Purok 5, 8th Avenue, Barangay Tomas Monteverde, Agdao Davao City last Sept. 27, 2016.

Charged for robbery with violence against or intimidati­on of a person were Jonathan Adarna, 20 years old, male, single, trisikad driver and a resident of Sta. Cruz, Purok 5 Brgy. Tomas Montevere in Agdao Davao City and a 15-year-old out- of-school youth, who is a resident in the area of incident.

Based on a report of Santa Ana Police, complainan­t Lemuel Suzon Lumiguid, 22, an electricia­n, was walking together with another 16-year-old witness along Lapu Lapu St. in front of Stall No. 36, and stall No. 37 of Agdao Public Market around 2:30 p.m. of Sept. 27, when Adarna approached him, took his bull cap and pulled him at the small passageway.

Adarna allegedly tightly held Lumiguid, covered his mouth and told him “Yaw na ug palag diha para dili ka madunggaba­n (Do not move or else you will be stabbed), while the 15 year-old-respondent took Lumiguid’s cellphone worth P700 and his leather wallet containing P1,100 from his pocket.

The respondent­s then ran to an unknown direction inside the

public market. The complainan­ts immediatel­y reported the incident to the officials of Barangay Tomas Monteverde that led to the arrest of both respondent­s and the recovery of the stolen items.

The minor respondent was also turned over to the Women and Children Protection Desk.

The case is being resolved by Prosecutor Imee Biscera-Mabale. KVC
