Lawyer nabbed in drug bust charged

A LAWYER was charged for violating Republic Act (RA) 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 last Thursday, September 29.

Sued was Lorenzo Ballesteros Ta-asan, 48, an associate lawyer of a local firm here.

Based on the spot report from the Sta. Ana police, Ta-asan was arrested after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police officer who acted as a buyer at Lacson Street. Bo. Obrero, Davao City.

Seized from the suspect’s possession were sachets of suspected shabu which weighs around 4.08 grams with an estimated street value of P14,000.

Other evidence seized include one disposable lighter with an improvised foil needle, rolled aluminum foil, black bag pack, and P500 marked money.

The case is now being resolved by Prosecutor Grace Lydda Lariego.
