Ateneo, HC Mintal clinch titles
ATENEO de Davao University Junior High School (Addu JHS) and Holy Cross of Mintal (HCM) shared top honors at the close of the Davao Region Football Association (DRFA) U17 Girls' Futsal Tournament at the Addu Fr. Martinez covered court in Matina, Davao City recently.
Ateneo JHS beat Aguilas Dabaw FC, 3-1, in the division 1 final match behind the goals of Julien Meredith Mirto, Shanelle Ostan and Denise Angela Diamante.
Rizza Joy Lao was the lone scorer for Aguilas Dabaw FC that settled for the runner-up honors.
The Philippine College of Technol- ogy (PCT) and Crossing Bayabas National High School (CBNHS) placed third and fourth, respectively.
Patricia Erika Francisco and Chiyo Jan Marasigan of Addu JHS, Lao of Aguilas Dabaw FC, Joyce Semacio of PCT and Loren Mae Lanoy of CBNHS were named to the Mythical Five. They received shirts from Khanj T-Shirt Maker.
In division 2, HCM edged Khanj FC, 2-1. Riza Torrentera and Giana Policarpio netted goals for HCM while Khanj FC's only goal was courtesy of Arwin Allado .
Addu Senior High School (SHS) finished third while the University of Mindanao (UM) came fourth.
The Mythical Five members were Stephanie Sudagar (HCM), Angela Bea De Luna (Addu SHS), Joannah Marie Adao (Addu SHS), Kyaneza Abellar (Khanj FC) and Allado (Khanj FC).
Winners received plaques, medals and cash prizes during the awarding rites of the event sponsored by Analou Ingles, owner of Khanj T-Shirt Maker and Perm Janitorial and General Allied Services.
The Addu Athletics Office, TMS Shipping Agencies, Inc., and GHT Water Refilling Station and Laundry Shop were event partners.
