Man nabbed in drug bust sued

-

A MAN is facing charges before the court after he allegedly sold a suspected illegal drug to an agent in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (Pdea) 11 in Davao City.

Charged with violation of the Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is Marvin Ponce del Leon Javier, a resident from Barangay Matina Aplaya.

In a resolution approved on March 14, prosecutor Maria Cynthia N. Adao-Prat found probable cause to charge the accused based on the complaint filed by an agent of Pdea-11.

Evidence showed that the accused was arrested in a drug-bust operation conducted by Pdea-11 at a lodging-in in Shanghai, Matina Aplaya on February 21, Tuesday morning.

The accused was found in possession of one plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, weighing 0.0579 grams, and P1,000 drug-bust marked money. He was arrested.

Based on the Chemistry Report submitted by the Pdea-11, the seized item tested positive for methamphetamine hyTHE

drochloride, otherwise known as shabu.

Adao-Prat said it appears that the accused has been lawfully arrested without a warrant. She added that the accused is held liable on the case filed against him.

Meanwhile, Pdea-11 arrested Wednesday six people, including a woman, in three separate drug-bust operation conducted in cities of Davao and Panabo.

The six suspects were identified as Erson Jun Lopez Sapules, Japhet Urbiztondo Ladimora, Jufel Ladimora Primede, Joshua Tanio, Irene Algarme and Antonio Manzano.

Pdea-11 public information officer Noli Nephi Dimaandal said the six suspects are currently detained at their jail facility and are facing charges for violation of the Republic Act 9165. ICT
