Inday expects only the best from TFD

-

DAVAO City Mayor Sara “Inday” Duterte-Carpio yesterday said that she expects Task Force Davao to give their best in securing the citizens of Davao City.

Duterte-Carpio, in an ambush interview, said that amid security threats experienced by other areas of the Philippines, she still has the same mandate to the security group.

"Same lang po. Keep Davao peaceful, terrorfree. We do not seek perfection sa tanang butang but we expect them to give their best," she said.

Duterte-Carpio was yesterday's keynote speaker for the 14th founding anniversary of Task Force Davao.

During the ceremony, she thanked Task Force Commander Col. Erwin Bernard Neri for being her “shock absorber” during the days of her delicate pregnancy.

“I’d like to personally express my gratitude to Col. Neri for being my shock absorber during my pregnancy. As you all know, mga lalaki, pag buntis ang babae mura’g buang so he listened to me for almost nine months. Nagyawyaw ako sa kanya sa viber (As you all know, pregnant women are crazy so he listened to me to almost nine months. I rant on him in Viber),” she said.

The mayor also likewise thanked the man on the ground who serve rain or shine.

“Naga painit ug ulan mo diha alang-alang sa pagbantay sa atong siyudad ug pagbantay sa katawhan nga malinawon ang ilang pagpuyo dinhi sa atong siyudad, (You face the heat of the sun and the rain to guard our city in order for them to have a peaceful life in the city),” she said.

Duterte-Carpio also likewise congratulated the awardees for a job well-done and she hoped that their commitment will continue.

She also announced that the city government will provide gift certificates to more than 500 members of the Task force.

“As an anniversary token, the city government of Davao prepared a gift, individually, for the members of the Task Force Davao. I think we received the list of the 500 plus, it did not reach 600,” she said.

The City Mayor also said that they are happy that Col. Neri is still bound to stay here in Davao while the AFP is still choosing for the next commander to be assigned in Davao City. KVC
