PHILAMLIFE is intensifying its efforts in promoting financial planning among Dabawenyos in celebration of its 70th Anniversary.

Jenny C. Santos, director of agencies in Philam Life South Central Mindanao, who was a guest during Wednesday's Habi at Kape, Abreeza Ayala Mall, yesterday said through their Live Ready Campaign they aim to highlight the importance of proper financial planning as this will help Dabawenyos manage their money and be disciplined in achieving their goals.

"We want our fellow Filipinos be able to live longer, healthier, and better lives, which can be achieved through financial planning," Santos said.

She added that they seek to create financially literate Filipino families that will help create a financially stable nation.

Santos said if families plan for their financial future and prepare for it as early as possible then they can achieve their dreams and aspirations.

"In a young age we ask ourselves if we can start as early as 6 months and the answer for that is yes you can and as you get older you'll wonder if it's still okay to start investing because maybe it's already too late but no, it is never too late because the best time to start planning for your future really is today where you are still be able to plan for it," she said.

She said one way to save money is people should first clearly know what their goals are for the future.

Santos said they have financial advisers to give advice and solutions to their clients of financial planning.

They also have a financial literacy program for the students in partnership with the Department of Education (Deped). This is being conducted in public and private schools in a bid to create better understanding and appreciation on financial planning among students.
