John Lloyd, Sarah G. in new film
MANILA – They have already done several movies together but John Lloyd Cruz said working on his fourth film with Sarah Geronimo still feels like they are collaborating in a project for the first time.
The two are the lead stars of an upcoming Star Cinema film under the direction of Theodore Boborol and it will be their reunion movie since “It Takes a Man and a Woman” in 2013.
“Para kaming parehong nangangapa ni Sarah. It’s a celebration. It’s a reunion film for me and Sarah pero wala 'yung isang aming partner in crime, wala si direk Cathy (Garcia Molina),” he said.
Cruz said Boborol uses a different “language” that gives him and Geronimo a fresh experience while filming.
“Si direk Ted, sobra naming naeenjoy dahil ibang iba 'yung experience. Napakabago nung naibibigay at naibabahagi niya sa amin kaya enjoy kami sa shoot,” he said.
Boborol was the director of “Just the Way You Are” and “Vince and Kath and James.”
Meanwhile, Cruz shared that his contract with ABS-CBN is about to expire this year and he wants to make the most out of it.
“Gusto kong masulit 'yung buong taon at ma-prioritize lahat ng kung ano man ang ipagkakatiwala sa atin ng Kapamilya network. Gusto ko muna maprioritize ang ating obligasyon,” he said.
Cruz also took the opportunity to thank Gawad Tanglaw for his Presidential Jury Award for Best Film Performances.
“Maraming maraming salamat po. Mabuhay kayo. Napakaganda po ng ginagawa niyo para sa aming industriya. Huwag po sana kayo magsasawa sa pagtangkilik at pagsuporta sa aming mga taga pelikula at taga TV. Maraming salamat po Gawad Tanglaw,” he said.
