Sara eyes inclusion of Indo culture in Kadayawan

DAVAO City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio said she intends to incorporat­e Indonesian Culture with the upcoming celebratio­n of the Kadayawan Festival 2017.

Duterte-Carpio in an interview last Wednesday after the 4th Foundation Anniversar­y Program of the Task Force Davao said she talked with the consul from Indonesia for an internatio­nal theme for this year's Kadayawan Festival.

“Na-discuss namo with the Indonesian Consul nga ilang Indonesian Day na idungan nato sa Kadayawan Festival that is why I told them that himuon nalang natong Internatio­nal Kadayawan. Let us make it nga dili lang culture sa Davao pero culture pud sa Indonesia. Isa na sa among gina-work karon (The Indonesian Consul and I have discussed that their Indonesian Day will be simultaneo­usly held with the Kadayawan Festival. That is why I told

them that we will have an Internatio­nal Kadayawan this year. Let us make it that it will include not only the culture of Davao but also the culture of Indonesia. This is one of the things that we are working out right now),” she said.

Duterte-Carpio said this Sunday a possible bilateral agreement with Indonesia and Davao City is expected with her meeting with Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

Widodo is set to arrive within the city for the launch of the Davao-General SantosBitu­ng Roll on Roll-off (Roro) shipping route at Kudos Port in Sasa, Davao City. KVC
