Pag-Ibig fetes 8990 anew as Mindanao's top developer
MASS housing property giant 8990 Housing Development Corporation was feted anew as No. 1 Developer in Mindanao in terms of take-out value during the Pag-Ibig Fund Home Lending Accomplishment Report Davao Leg held at the Ritz Hotel at Garden Oases recently. The company also topped the similar awards in Mindanao last year.
8990 HDC, owner of the DECA Homes brand, bested Johndorf Ventures Corporation (DavaoCagayan de Oro-Iligan-Butuan) and Agan Land (General Santos City) that placed second and third, respectively.
Completing the top 10 were VCDU Realty Corporation (ButuanCagayan de Oro), Liberty Land Corporation (Cagayan de Oro), Gensan VSM Realty Corporation (General Santos City), Jukens Builders and Trade (Cagayan de Oro), Davao Joyful Homes Realty Corporation (Davao), Moderno Citi Homes Development Corporation (Davao) and Argusland, Incorporated (Cagayan de Oro City).
General manager Mary Ann T. Chua, who was accompnied by assistant general manager Engr Juliet B. Domingo, received the award for publicly-listed 8990 whose Mindanao projects include DECA Homes Mulig, DECA Homes Indangan, DECA Homes Catalunan Grande, DECA Homes Esperanza, DECA Homes Resort Residences and DECA Homes Cabantian in Davao City and DECA Homes Gensan in General Santos City.
Acmad Rizaldy Moti, officer-incharge (OIC) and the chief executive officer (CEO) of Pag-ibig Fund, led the awarding ceremonies.
Chua said she's happy and proud that 8990 has retained its No. 1 position among Mindanao developers, citing the collective effort of their employees who are efficient and motivated to work.
"Receiving this recognition for straight two years would have not been possible if not for our hardworking staff and for the constant guidance of our president and CEO who is agressive and a great motivator of excellence," Chua said, pertaining to Januario Jesus Gregorio B. Atencio III whose clear mission and vision to provide every Filipino a decent home has also inspired the rest of the 8990 employees.
She also cited the "excellent marketing unit managers and credible DECA homebuyers whose accounts are ready for HDMF migration".
Atencio, for his part, lauded Chua and Domingo whose leadership and dedication helped pave the way for 8990 to dominate in Mindanao and for their efforts to make the company consistently on top.
"I also thank Pag-Ibig Fund for promoting goodwill and positive vibes among Mindanao developers through giving out the awards," Atencio said.
