Blue Warriors annex 19 golds
THE Blue Warriors Club added another feather on its cap by harvesting a total of 19 gold medals, five silvers and eight bronzes as the Philippine Moo Duk Kwan Soo Bahk Do Incorporated (PMDKSBDI) 33rd Summer League Moo Duk Kwan Classing Championships closed Sunday at the NCCC Mall Davao Kadayawan Hall Sunday, May 21.
Blue Warriors' Isiah Campos secured two golds by topping the boys advance 10-11 years old and the children red belt categories.
Other gold winners were Jairam Ladroma (men adult class), Naomi Corales (girls beginners eight to nine), Josef Sho- twell (boys beginners nine to 10), Marianne Atienza (girls beginners 14-15), Carloise Luayon (girls beginners eight), Marla Sobrecarey (girls beginners 13-14), Alexis Alcazaren (boys beginners 16-17), Eisen Grandeza (boys advance 16), Kiara Campos (girls advance 12), Jhafar Adang (boys advance 15-17), Adrian Samal (boys advance 1012), Nick Violan (boyds advance 13-14), Isiah Campos (boys advance 10-11 and children red belt), Keith Panganiban (boys advance 10), Lawrence Eletto Guinto (boys advance 12-13), Jhimuel Macias (boys advance 16), Joseph Brizuela (boys advance 17) and Jairus Alfonso (adolescent red belt).
David Ne (boys advance 14), Jerus Hernandez (boys beginners 13-14), Elijah Protacio (boys beginers nine-10), Angelo Cañeda (boys beginners 15-16) and Kiara Campos (children green belt) settled for silvers.
Bronzes were won by Meldrick Tana (boy's beginners 12 years old) and Leeam Suelto (boys beginners 13-14).
Shotwell, Ivan Sandabal and Dennis Ortiz and the team of Corrales, Sobrecary and Alcazaren each salvaged a bronze in the hyung competition.
Blue Warriors Kyo Sa Angela Grandeza, who is also the daughter of Edgardo "Bing" Grandeza, in a Facebook interview with Sun.Star Davao, said: "I always believe in the saying of our grandmaster Hwang Kee that when there's preparation, there is no fear."
She added that every student has his/her unique skills and techniques that instructors can only enhance and develop.
"The most important thing is the attitude in how we accept defeat and be humble with the achievements we have," Grandeza, who is preparing her wards for the upcoming 48th National MDK Gup Classing Tournament in November, said. ABM
