Only PRRD can end ML

-

EASTERN Mindanao Commander Lieutenant General Leonardo Guerrero said only President Rodrigo Duterte can call off Martial law in line with the progressive group's strong plea to cease the implementation of the military rule.

Guerrero, in an interview Thursday, said the AFP will adhere to the decisions of President Rodrigo Duterte.

"Ang desisyon naman iyan ay nasa political leadership natin, tayo naman ay sumusunod kung ano pinag-uutos," he said.

Guerrero also dismissed that the incident at Sitio Nasilaban, Talaingod, Davao del Norte where a Cafgu member fired at a lumad teacher is Martial Law related.

"Siguro hindi martial law related yun, yung nabalitaan ko sa Davao del Norte has something to do with Salugpungan schools, nireklamo na," he said.

He also said that the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (Cafgu) involved in the shooting is

also under investigation.

In an interview Thursday, Guerrero said the security situation of the Eastern Mindanao and Davao City is generally peaceful.

Despite that, Guerrero said security threats still do exist.
