Security tightened as Ramadan ends

LOCAL authoritie­s in Davao City are keen in boosting security measures to ensure the safe and peaceful observance of Eid'l Fitr by the Muslim community to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) city director Police Senior Superinten­dent Alexander Tagum said that they have already put in place the security plans for the festivity in order to maintain the peace and order.

He, likewise, assured that sufficient number of personnel will be deployed in activity and praying areas like mosques.

"We are on double alert and our 100% consolidat­ed personnel will follow our security plan for our city," Tagum said.

He added that they will also implement an intensifie­d security operations, integrated police patrol, mobile checkpoint and Oplan Bulabog to shred off potential threats during the activity considerin­g that threats are always there.

Meanwhile, Task Force Davao (TFD) commander Colonel Erwin Bernard Neri said that they will be in close coordinati­on with their police counterpar­t.
