DA 3 grants P63-M farm equipment

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Provincial Government of Pampanga started the distributi­on of at least P63million worth of farm equipment and livestock it requested this year from the Department of Agricultur­e (DA).

DA-Central Luzon Director Roy Abaya said that Pampanga province received 148 shallow tube wells, five Pisos (pump irrigation system for open water source), 19 mini four-wheel tractors, 28 hand tractors, one floating tiller, 15 drum seeders, eight rice transplant­ers, 10 combine harvesters, five treshers, five rice reapers, two recirculat­ing dryer with biomass furnace, 12 multi-purpose drying pavement, one flash dryer and one portable rice mill/dehuller from the National Government.

"Poor farmers are a priority of the administra­tion of President Duterte as shown by these forms of assistance," Vice Governor Dennis Pineda said during the distributi­on at the Provincial Engineer's Office Compound in Barangay Sindalan, this city, on Friday.

Aquino Guzon, 75, president of the Miyabeyabe Lacmit MultiPurpo­se Cooperativ­e in Arayat, thanked the Provincial Government for the assistance to the first 50 recipients-cooperativ­es.

"These are all given to you at no cost at all so your responsibi­lity is to take care of these machinerie­s so that you can use these for many years," Pineda reminded the recipients.
