6 illegal gun holders nabbed in Cordillera

BAGUIO - Six illegal gun holders, including a retired marine officer, in Cordillera were nabbed by authoritie­s over the week, seizing several unlicensed firearms and ammunition­s.

Peter Blanza Lanas, 53, retired Philippine Marines officer, was arrested in Barangay Dumayco, Peñarrubia in Abra.

Police confiscate­d one Deawoo cal. 9mm and one magazine for cal .9mm loaded with 10 ammunition.

Felipe Mallonga Caddumlay was arrested in his residence at Calanan village, Tabuk City in Kalinga after a firearm and several ammunition­s were seized inside his home in the early morning of July 11.

Seized from Caddumlay’s possession were one cal. 38 w/ defaced serial number, 6 ammunition for cal. 38, one ammunition for cal.45 and one holster for cal .45.

Also arrested the same day is Viernes Singlao Garcia, 42, collector, and a resident of Purok 6, Irisan, Baguio City was nabbed inside Dartsbill Restaurant Darts and Billiards in Baguio City.

Authoritie­s confiscate­d items from the suspect are one 9mm caliber Norinco with inserted one magazine containing eight ammunition­s.

Florentino Awuigi Anical, 22, caretaker of Bade’s Farm and a resident of Barangay Manaois, Lagayan, Abra was arrested at Bade’s Farm in Barangay Mudiit, Dolores after he was reported pointing a gun to a minor.

Operatives recovered a caliber.38 Colt Revolver without serial number.
