Salads offered at Balay Verde
Ma n y of us want t o enjoy a really good refreshing and delicious healthy meal.
At the second floor of the Abreeza Corporate Center, just in front of Anytime Fitness, you can have your daily dose of healthy meals and fresh vegetables at Balay Verde, a farm to table concept by united organic farmers.
Balay Verde is founded by Jean-Michel Desreumaux and his partner Francis Eric Tam of La Fermette in Tacunan; Gerardo E. Suela and wife, Michelle Suelo, of Gems Farm in Tacunan; and Louella Garcia and her daughter Mavic Abisisit of Huni Farm.
"Balay Verde is a shop and dine (concept). We are into natural and organic farming; so we, the owners, provide most of the products here from our farm," said Desreumaux.
Also through the restaurant, Dereumaux and his partners also hope to promote a healthy lifestyle to Dabawenyos and at the same time promote natural and organic products.
"We want to provide healthy and natural food for the people who want to eat well and care for their health," he said.
Balay Verde offers refreshing and delicious
salad bowls priced at around P240 to P270. The restaurant also offers lunch, merienda, and dinner buffets offering different dishes every day. The lunch and dinner buffet is at P299 per person while the merienda is at P199 per person.
The restaurant also sells cakes, pastries, french baguettes, healthy snacks, fresh milk, plain yogurt, kefir yogurt, butter, cheese, among others. The dairy products are produced by La Fermette.
Other produce from other organic farms are also being sold here.
"We call other farmers to sell their products here," Desreumaux said.
He said he and Garcia are the ones who cook the food and assure their customers that every ingredient used is natural and organic.
Desreumaux pointed out that if they have a certain organic and natural ingredient not available at their farm, they source it out from other organic farmers.
"We cook the food ourselves. We process from the farm to the table. We care about our products.
We care about the process," he said.
