Delos Reyes lifts Hyenas FC's championship victory
ZEAN Gabriel delos Reyes struck for the winning goal to lift the Hyenas Football Club's 1-0 title victory in the under-eight division of the 1st Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Football Festival that came to a close at the Tionko field Sunday.
Miele Bennet Dominggo gave delos Reyes the opportunity to score at the stretch.
Delos Reyes was hailed most valuable player (MVP) award in the division. Hyenas FC was also composed of Jilliana Winstelle Dagpin, Gabriel Alar, Samantha Baran, Harold Parlero, Christof Elgin Demandante, Raphael Dumandagan, Jose Andre Nuenay, Kurt Sebastian Javellana and Zaijian Don Noriel.
“God blessed the team with skillful kids and coaches,” Hyenas FC football program director Rex Rodriguez said in an interview, citing the team's chemistry and consistency.
In other matches, PPUFC subdued Southshield FC, 1-0, to secure the boys under-six crown but the latter bounced back by claiming the U12 title after beating Rovers FC.
The Black Knights blanked RMC Bulldogs, 1-0, to clinch the boys U18 title.
Philippine College of Technology (PCT) won the boys U18 title after posting a 2-0 victory over Sikat Alab in the finals.
PCt also tamed the RMC Bulldogs, 4-0, to rule the men's open division. John Mark Diamat of PCT was named MVP.
The PCT lady booters also emerged champion in the women's open event by nipping Seagull FC, 3-2, in the championship game of the bootfest sanctioned by the Davao Regional Football Association.
