A TOTAL of 17,000 security personnel deployment is arranged for the celebration of the 32nd Kadayawan sa Davao, an official said.

Public Safety and Security Command Center (PSSCC) head Retired General Benito De Leon said that based on last count, 17,000 individual personnel deployments are set for the celebration.

“Kung isang tao yun, 17,000 times siya madedeploy, 17,000 personnel lahat ang kailangan,” De Leon said after the City Peace and Order Council meeting yesterday.

De Leon said that Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio during the CPOC meeting, emphasized that there should be an overpreparation for the security.

“Ibig sabihin, sobrahan pa ang pagprepare ng safety and security to ensure the safe conduct of Kadayawan Festival,” he said.

De Leon said that the security forces are all set for the celebration events.

“This has been a long ongoing planning since last month to ensure that all things are properly set for Kadayawan, maraming activities so ginather namin ang mga kapulisan at mga kasundaluhan pati 911, pati mga ahensiya ng gobyerno para makita naming ang ano ba ang dapat gawin sa Kadayawan Festival,” he said.

He added that there will be an intensified conduct of checkpoints, and intensified search on areas which were identified as possible havens of criminal activities.

“Kung mapapansin niyo, sunod sunod ang Oplan Bulabog ng DCPO and Task Force Davao para sa ganoon we can thwart or deter any terroristic act, and other criminal activities coming from those areas,” he added.

De Leon said that the personnel will do what they can to ensure the security and success of the Kadayawan.

He also asked the participation of the visitors and resident in Davao City to cooperate with the security forces. (KVC)
