Charges filed vs dad for raping daughter

FATHER is facing charges before the court after he sexually abused and raped her 13-year-old daughter in a village in Matina in Davao City last month.

Charged with violation of the Republic Act 8353, otherwise known as The Anti-Rape Law, and Qualified Rape by Sexual Assault, is identified only as Alvince.

In a three-page resolution, prosecutor Erna Orilla-Donasco found probable cause to charge the accused based on the complaint filed by the victim and the wife of the accused.

The victim, in her affidavit, attested that the recent abuse happened July

13 when she was asleep. She was awakened from her sleep when her father laid down beside her.

She turned away from the accused but the latter removed her pants and undergarment, and touched the private parts of her body.

The mother of the victim, who is the wife of the accused, arrived home and saw her daughter already half-naked, while the accused was at the back of the victim.

The mother then slapped her husband and confronted him over his actions towards their daughter. The mother then brought their daughter to Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) and sought for police assistance.

Police arrested the accused in a pursuit operation in New Corella, Davao del Norte.

During the investigation, the victim revealed that the accused have been sexually abusing her since she was 11 years old. She said the first incident happened sometime in August 2015, while she was also asleep in her room. ICT (For full story visit www. sunstar.com.ph/davao/)
