Some roads closed for Indak-Indak

TEMPORARY road closures for the Indak-Indak sa Kadayawan event including rehearsals were already approved.

The City Government of Davao has already issued their advisory for the road closures this coming Kadayawan Street Parade 2017 on August 19, 2017.

The main route of the parade will be in Magsaysay Avenue left turn to Claro M. Recto Ave, right turn to Bonifacio St., left turn to Pelayo St, and left turn to San Pedro St. The showdown area will be at the San Pedro Square.

The whole San Pedro square will be closed during that day because of the installati­on of the Kadayawan Dome, which will be at the showdown area.

Those from the north were advised to take the alternate routes : J.P Laurel Ave-Quirino AvenueDAVA­O McArthur Hightway; J.P Laurel Avenue- R.Castillo St.- Leon Garcia Street.Quezon Boulevard,- Quimpo Boulevard- McArthur Highway.; J.P Laurel AvenueCaba­guio- L.Garcia St.- Quezon BoulevardQ­uimpo Boulevard,' McArthur Highway.

Those from the south were also advised to take alternate routes: McArthur Highway-Quirino Avenue-Jose P. Laurel Avenue;Mc Arthur HighwayMag al lanes St.- Quezon Boul eva rd;Mc Arthur Highway-Sandawa RoadQuimpo Boulevard; McArthur Highway-Quimpo Boulevard-Quezon Boulevard.

The potential areas for heavy traffic are in Quirino Avenue, Magallanes St., Quezon Boulevard, Ilustre St., and Camus St.

The traffic is expected to be moderate to heavy during the duration of the activities.

The 18th City Council last Tuesday approved an ordinance for the temporary road closure to vehicular traffic in San Pedro Square, Davao City from August 17 to August 18 from 7 am to 3 pm for the event rehearsal and blockings of Davao and Provincial Contingent­s for Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan.

Meanwhile, the council also approved an ordinance for temporary closure of vehicular traffic portion of Palma Gil St. (from corner Legaspi St. up to Poncio St.) Davao City from August 17, 2017 to August 20, 2017 from 4 pm to 1am for the Kaondayawa­n/Food Market and Music Nights. KVC
