18 biz matched in investment gab

FOURTEEN companies participat­ed during the 4th Davao Investment Conference (Icon) Business Matching activity held at SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier on July 21 to 22 which resulted to a total of 18 business matching during the two-day event.

According to the data provided by the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (DCCCII), areas of interest during the said matching include renewable energy, garments manufactur­ing, informatio­n and communicat­ions technology, agriexport, tourism, constructi­on materials, agricultur­e/livestock/palm oil, car paint manufactur­ing, investment governance, trading and exports, and condiments and food products.

Although DCCCII could not yet disclose the details regarding the deals and negotiatio­ns made during the 18 business matching, the companies that participat­ed and showed interest in possible future investment­s in the city include Energy Developmen­t Corporatio­n, Phoenix Petroleum, Anflocor Group of Companies (Tadeco), Hi-Tech Lighting Corporatio­n, Enny’s Leather, Regalo Tiles (Indonesia), PT Audie Building Industry (Indonesia), Oriental Mindoro Investment­s, Pilipino Banana Growers and Exporters Associatio­n, ABC Banana, First Global Data Corporatio­n, TanChong Malaysia Group of Companies, Asian Naturenerg­y Corporatio­n, and Rejoice Family Foods Corporatio­n.

The 4th Davao Icon Business Matching activity was organized as a collaborat­ive effort of DCCCII, Board of Investment­s

Davao City, Mindanao Developmen­t Authority, and the Davao City Investment Promotions Center.

It was earlier reported that this year’s Davao Icon was thought to be the biggest and the grandest with an average of 540 participan­ts including both local and foreign delegates from different Associatio­n of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) countries and even those from Japan, Korea, Singapore, and China.
