Finally, potable water

-

SAMAL ISLAND – Through the joint effort of the local government of the Island Garden City of Samal, Department of Interior and Local Government, and the Igacos Water District, a total of 1.8M worth of Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig (Salintubig) - Provision of Water Supply Project had been turned over to Barangay Aundanao in Samal Island on August 9, 2017.

“Finally, a potable water supply has reached Barangay Aundanao. As this is properly turned over to us, it is only fitting that we utilize this with proper care”, said Aundanao Barangay Captain Romero Papacoy during the Ceremonial Project Turnover on August 9, 2017.

Under the Bottoms Up Budgetting (BUB) Program, around 166 households with a total population of 628 in Barangay Aundanao had finally been provided an access to potable water supply through the 20 communal faucets installed in different areas in Purok 1A, 1B, 2, and 3.

“Providing an access to potable water to Samaleños is one of our Mayor Al David Uy’s priorities in his administration, and hopefully all the residents in Aundanao will be able to enjoy an access to a potable water”, Executive Assistant for Community Affairs Florencio Thaddeus Valera said.

The Igacos Water District had also committed to waive the first month of the water bill for Barangay Aundanao.

“We want to tell you nga ang Water district nagcommit nga mohatag sa inyo og safe potable water”, Igacos Water District Chairperson of Board Directors Florence Valera said.

Barangay Aundanao is the 2nd recipient of The Salintubig – Provision of Potable Water Supply Project which aims to sustain the provision and delivery of safe water supply services to household beneficiaries. The first was Brgy. Aumbay. SAMAL INFO
