THE Philippine Military Academy (PMA) invites Dabawenyos to try their luck with the military academy as they are set to conduct entrance examination on August 20 at the University of Mindanao (UM) Bolton, Davao City.

Second Lieutenant Jason Garcia, officer-incharge of PMA Entrance Exams said in yesterday’s Kapehan sa Dabaw at SM City Annex this year, there are 350 slots available for the incoming freshmen students class 2018-2022.

“I am encouraging everyone, be one of us, take the challenge and take PMA entrance examination on August 20,” Garcia said.

He added they are expecting around 500 participants this year higher compared last year where they had 400 examinees.

“We want all the aspiring cadets those deserving talaga to take the examination and we want to recruit outstanding students like valedictorians, ROTC officers and athletes because we need them in the military,” he said.

According to him, applicants should be natural born Filipino citizens, physically fit and of good moral character, with no past or pending administrative or criminal charges. They should also be senior high school graduates with a general average of at

least 85.

Aspiring cadets must be at least 17 years old, but not a day older than 22 years old on the reporting date of the year following their examination. They should also be single, never been married, never had a child, not pregnant, or tied to a legal obligation to support a child.

According to Garcia, qualified cadets will have the privilege for a free college education and earn a Bachelor of Science in Leadership and Management with monthly salary and allowances. .JCR (For full story visit www.sunstar. com.ph/davao/)
