- By Karina V. Cañedo

DAVAO City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte only attended six of the 24 sessions from January to June 2017.

This showed in the semi-annual performance report of the 18th Davao City Council. The vice mayor had one absent, seven vacation leaves, two sick leaves, one special leave, and seven official business recorded.

Among the reasons why he missed the session was when he was designated as acting mayor on March 14, 21, and 28.

During the times of his absences, Councilor Bernard Al-ag, who is the floor leader, designated a fellow councilor as presiding officer of the session. Al-ag, Bonifacio Militar, Al Ryan Alejandre, and Danilo Dayanghirang, were just some of the councilors who have been designated as presiding officers for one of the sessions.

Meanwhile, the report also showed that Councilors Dante Apostol, Edgar Ibuyan Jr., Jesus Melchor Quitain Jr, and Jesus Joseph Zozobrado attended all 24 sessions in the first six months of the year.

Councilors who were only present in five sessions within the same period were Councilors January Duterte and Councilor Antoinette Principe-Castrodes.

Duterte had one absent, one vacation leave, and 12 sick leaves, two special leaves, and three official business.

Castrodes had five vacation leaves, two sick leaves, and 12 special leaves.
