'Blood Galloner'
Top 3 blood donor employees recognized
PROVINCIAL Capitol, Compostela Valley Province--Three provincial government employees were given certificates of recognition as “Blood Galloner” in their support to the bloodletting program during the regular convocation on August 22, 2017 at the Capitol lobby.
“Offering something without expecting any in return is a true essence of volunteerism,” said Provincial Health Office (PHO) Assistant Department head, Dr. Mary Cyrel Pasaol.
The top three donor employees were Emma Resurrection, Dr. Georgie Arvin Legazpi, both of PHO and Rolino Palma of Provincial General Services Office. They will also receive 1 sack of rice each.
As the top "Blood Galloners," they have consistently donated nine times without lapses of 500cc (cubic centimeters) bags of blood through the bloodletting activities conducted by the PHO.
The advocacy to donate blood, through the Provincial Voluntary Blood Services Program (PVBSP), continues as the need for blood is constant. It serves not only in Comval but also includes the neighboring cities and provinces of this region.
This program has been reinforced by the Decision Support System which is a technology based application designed to provide online blood services and even became a national champion Best in eGov Customer Empowerment (G2C) Category Award in 2015.
The Provincial Government of Comval has been a consistent National Sandugo awardee having the highest turn-out of blood donations. In 2016, Comval received its 8th National Sandugo Award. Jazel
