Walk-thru scanners for bus terminal here
But, installation will be delayed due to roof leaks
THE walk-through scanners ordered by the city for the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) have arrived last month but its installation may have to wait due to some roof leak at the terminal's entrance.
"Dili pa namo ma-install kay murag naguba ang atong atop sa DCOTT dili nato siya pwede ibutang kay kung magtulo, maigo ang atong walkthrough scanners (We cannot install it because the roof needs repair and the water from the leak may harm the scanners)," Davao City Economic Enterprises (CEE) Office-incharge Maribeth Lumactod said in an interview with SunStar yesterday.
Lumactod said the roof by terminal's entrance is made of polycarbonate, not an ordinary roof which is why the CEE administration does not have the capacity to repair it.
"Lahi ang iyang systema dili siya matumban kay mabuak man kay carbonate (It has different system, since the roof is made of carbonate may break if someone steps on it)," she said.
She said they have already made estimates for the repair adding that they may possibly hire a contractor to do the job.
"They [contractor] will have an equipment to install that," she said in the vernacular.
Lumactod said the scanners arrived on the first week of August but only one scanner is now stored at DCOTT while the other scanner has not yet been delivered upon the CEE's advise to hold its delivery.
In a previous interview, Lumactod said each scanner costs between P80,000 to P90,000. KVC
