Alleged victim's taxi turned over to NBI

-- The taxi unit of Tomas Bagcal, the cabbie allegedly robbed by former University of the Philippine student Carl Angelo Arnaiz, was turned over Friday to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

Representatives of R&E taxi company brought the vehicle (with license plate UWK-620), along with documents that could be used by the NBI in locating Bagcal, who has been missing since September 3.

The media reported about the incident only on September 3, after the parents of Arnaiz requested the Public Attorney's Office (PAO) to conduct an autopsy on their son's body.

Arnaiz allegedly robbed Bagcal on August 18, before he was killed by the policemen along C3 road in Caloocan City.

Pet Lanuza, president of the R&E union, turned

over to the NBI Bagcal's daily time record, which showed that the last time he was on duty was last September 3, the same day Arnaiz's death broke the news.

Also turned over to the NBI is a report indicating that Bagcal was held up by a lone man on August 18.

In his resume, which the NBI also obtained a copy, it was written that Bagcal, who has been with the company since 2008, is a graduate of La Sallete College (now University of La Sallete) in Santiago City, Isabela.

The NBI said it will conduct a forensic examination on the taxi to identify if it is the same vehicle that Arnaiz boarded on August 18.

The NBI is conducting its own an investigation on the robbery incident that transpired before Arnaiz' death in the hands of the Caloocan police officers. SUNSTAR PHILIPPINES
