-

CAGAYAN DE ORO A public school principal who has been previously accused of committing acts of lasciviousness against amother of a then fifth grader, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon, September 13, for allegations of child abuse.

City Central School principal Arnold Tejero was arrested after a warrant of arrest came out against him for alleged child abuse.

Chief Inspector Jason Sto. Domingo, deputy commander station commander of Cogon police, said the warrant of arrest was released by Regional Trial Court Branch 22.

Tejero was arrested while still inside the school premises around 4 p.m.

In an interview, Tejero denied the allegations saying the fiscal's office made the resolution but failed to take note of his counter-affidavit.

"Naapil lang ko kay ako may nag-investigate, unya nabutang sa complaint the way ang akong admonition sa minor, pero bakak man na," he said.

He added, "Gi-serve ang warrant, obediently, niuban nalang ko kay naa may warrant of arrest."

Tejero said he was supposed to apply for bail on Wednesday but ran out of time. He spent the night inside a jail cell in Cogon police station.

It can be recalled that Tejero was also accused of acts of lasciviousness last year, filed by a mother of a 5th grader. He was also accused of sexual harassment by his own teachers.

On Wednesday, assistant principal Rudy Villalobos was also arrested for allegations of child abuse but has been released on bail.

Reports said that Grade 5 and Grade 6 students of the most populated public elementary school in Cagayan de Oro, complained against Villalobos for supposedly kicking them. The complaint was filed in April 2016.
