Si­mul­ta­ne­ous raids yields 2 ar­rests

JOINT op­er­a­tions by au­thor­i­ties cap­tured two per­son­al­i­ties with a war­rant of ar­rest while a to­tal of 1,350 in­di­vid­u­als were in­vited for ques­tion­ing and un­der­went pro­fil­ing dur­ing a si­mul­ta­ne­ous anti-ter­ror­ism op­er­a­tion dubbed as Oplan Bu­la­bog con­ducted in some ar­eas in Davao City.

Davao City Po­lice Of­fice (DCPO) city di­rec­tor Po­lice Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent Alexan­der Tagum said the op­er­a­tion is a joint ef­fort aimed to clear the city from threats of ter­ror­ism and also pre­vent pos­si­ble spillover amid the on­go­ing armed bat­tle in war-torn Marawi City.

The op­er­a­tion was con­ducted at 6 a.m. yes­ter­day, Septem­ber 15, and ended around 10:30

a.m with no un­to­ward in­ci­dents.

All the in­vited per­son­al­i­ties were bio-pro­filed and fa­cial pho­tos were taken to de­ter­mine if they match any of the ter­ror­ist posted in their gallery. Tagum added that the op­er­a­tion ended with­out any un­to­ward in­ci­dents hap­pen­ing.

Of the 1,350, a to­tal of 194 per­sons were pro­filed in Barangay 31-D, Boule­vard; 262 in Mus­lim Vil­lage, San Rafael, and Barangay 9-A; 348 in Sabroso Vil­lage and Barangay 76-A; and 70 were also pro­filed in Old NIA and Barangay Sasa.

There were also a to­tal of 73 per­sons who were in­vited in Purok Si­lag, Barangay Man­dug; and 81 per­sons in Si­tio Punong, Brgy Lizada. In Purok 12 and 13, Ti­bungco, 47 were in­vited, which in­cluded 11 In­ter­nally Dis­place Per­son­al­i­ties (IDPs). Of the 47, one was found to have a pend­ing war­rant of ar­rest. The iden­tity of the ar­rested per­son was not re­vealed.

For Los Ami­gos Re­lo­ca­tion, Tug­bok three per­sons were pro­filed while 283 in Dominga Vil­lage, Barangay Pobla­cion, Cali­nan were in­vited with one per­son ar­rested with war­rant of ar­rest.

Tagum iden­ti­fied the ar­rested sus­pects as Ju­nior Toña­cao Co­ca­mas, 22, and a res­i­dent of Dominga Vil­lage, Cali­nan. He was wanted for vi­o­la­tion of Pres­i­den­tial De­cree 1619 or the Law on Volatile Sub­stances is­sued by Judge Day­dews D. Vil­lamor of Branch 5, Re­gional Trial Court RTC 11, Ecoland, Davao City and Jo­mar Suan Mat­u­ran, wanted for slight phys­i­cal in­juries is­sued by Judge Nenette Gustilo Le­m­ana of Mu­nic­i­pal Trial Courts in Cities (MTCC) Branch 6.

The op­er­a­tion is con­ducted by the joint Se­cu­rity Task Force com­posed of DCPO, to­gether with TF Davao, Re­gional Pub­lic safety Bat­tal­ion (RPSB 11), Na­tional Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tion (NBI 11), Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tion De­tec­tion Unit (CIDU 11), Philip­pine Coast Guard, Mar­itime Group 11 and Avi­a­tion Se­cu­rity Unit (Avseu 11).
