A total of 578 drug personalities were arrested while 13 were killed during the operations conducted by the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) since the relaunching of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) drug campaign dubbed as Project Double Barrel Reloaded last March.

DCPO director Police Senior Superintendent Alexander Tagum yesterday said that their relentless anti-drug campaign has resulted to number of drug personalities arrested from March to September this year.

Based on the data presented to the media, the Sta. Ana Police Station (PS) garnered the highest number of apprehended drug personalities with 109, followed by Talomo PS (108), Bunawan PS (83), San Pedro PS (64), Sasa PS (59), Toril PS (58), Buhangin PS (41), Tugbok PS (34), Calinan PS (18), Investigation and Detective Management Branch (four), Baguio PS (two) and Davao City Drug Enforcement Unit (one).

Meanwhile, none were recorded in Paquibato PS and Marilog PS.

Tagum said there were no drug personalities in the area because it is already in the upland and most of the drug targets are located in downtown Davao.

Operatives have also conducted a total of 354 buy bust operations in the same period.

Of the 13 killed in drug operations, three were under operations by the Sasa PS, three in Toril PS, two in San Pedro PS, two in Bunawan PS, and one each in Sta. Ana PS, Tugbok PS and Calinan PS.

These personalities were killed after resisting the arrest and withdrew firearms which prompted the police to shoot them in defense. JCR
