Crime prevention summit on Oct 2

-

MORE than 500 stakeholders are expected to join the Crime Prevention Summit on October 2 at Grand Men Seng Hotel.

The conference aims to inform the public and seek support from the communities in coming up with a unified effort to effectively combat crimes in the city.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) city director Police Senior Superintendent Alexander Tagum said yesterday during AFP-PNP media forum at The Royal Mandaya Hotel that in line with the Anti-Crime Prevention Month, they will initiate an event to elevate public awareness on crime statistics of the city.

They have identified and selected homeowners association presidents, security officers and barangay chairpersons in Davao City.

Tagum said that criminals have shifted their targets to private subdivisions and residences after the police have succeeded in the implementation of the Oplan Iron City or the Integrated Revitalized Operation of Neighborhood Watch of the Mega City that resulted to the decline of criminal incidents on the streets.

“We will again improvise and adapt to the current trend ng mga criminals. We will also penetrate private subdivisions,” Tagum said.

During the event, he said the DCPO units including the operation, intelligence, investigation operation and police community relation staff will provide inputs on the security situation
