24-hr water supply in Cabantian areas

-

Availability of water supply in most areas served by Cabantian Water Supply System (WSS) has returned to 24 hours as of September 21 with the completion of the emergency rehabilitation works on Davao City Water District’s Cabantian Production Well No. 1.

It can be recalled that the 12-hour rotational water supply scheme had to be reimplemented starting September 19 while the well rehabilitation was underway to fairly distribute water supply in Cabantian WSS.

While most areas now have 24-hours of water supply, these areas may continue to experience intermittent water supply within 24 hours especially during peak hours due to elevation constraint: areas adjacent to DCWD Reservoir, Hidalgo Homes, Celerina Heights, Ananda Marga Compound, Dacudao Village, Forestal Road, Kasilak Village, and Arendain Village.

DCWD has also started the series of mainline maintenance works by area to address water quality issues in response to Brgy. Cabantian Council’s recommendation to improve the water quality. However, customers who are con-

cerned on the drinkability of the water are advised to boil it beforehand or use it for nonpotable purposes.

Likewise, customers are advised that rehabilitation works on the production wells serving Cabantian WSS may also be done as necessary, which may result to water service interruptions or temporary rotational water supply scheme.

Ongoing projects that will further improve water suppy in Cabantian WSS include the pipelaying works from Panorama Homes towards Countryville Executive Homes. Once completed in December 2017, water from Dumoy WSS will be supplied to around 915 service connections in Holy Trinity, Countryville Executive Homes, Bacahoa Village, Dela Peña Village, Victor’s Executive Homes, and Emilia Homes.
