Mayor offers incentives for Weight Loss Challenge
TO motivate employees to lose weight for the Fit Philippines One Million Pounds National Weight Loss Challenge, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte committed to give cash incentives for the three department offices who will accomplish their promised weight by December this year.
Davao City Sports and Development Office officer-in-charge Mikee Aportadera yesterday announced that the City Mayor will give P20,000 reward to three departments.
"First three departments or offices na ma-achieve nila ang ilang committed nga amount of pounds, pag weigh out nato kung maachieve niyo ang inyong gi-commit nga weight naa mo'y tinag 20,000 pesos (The first three departments or offices who will achieve their committed amount of pounds, you will have incentive for that. The first three who could get the committed pounds during our weigh in will have P20,000 pesos each)," he said.
Aportadera clarified that the incentives will be given to the department not the individuals.
He also mentioned that the office or department may use the amount for their Christmas Party.
"At least you will be motivated to lose pounds for the better you pag-abot ug December, so make that possible P20,000 per office (At least you will be motivated to lose pounds for the better you in December)," he said.
Aportadera said that their office has visited the different departments and offices of the city to get the current weight of the employees and they will conduct weigh out in December to check if they have reduced.
The city mayor Sara Z. Duterte has initially personally volunteered to lose 10 pounds for the fitness challenge, at the same time, during the city hall flag ceremony last week, September 25, she also committed the whole city government of Davao will lose 12,000 pounds for the Fit Philippines One Million National Weight Loss Challenge.
