‘You’re all ingrates’ -- Bato

-

MANILA - Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald Dela Rosa slammed Tuesday the critics of the administration's campaign against illegal drugs.

"Ako prangka ako na tao, you can criticize us to high heavens but I can tell you straight sa inyong mga mata sabihan ko kayo ingrato kayo," he said when asked if he had a

message to the critics of the government's war on drugs.

[I'm a frank person, you can criticize us to high heavens but I can tell you straight to your eyes that you are ingrates.]

Dela Rosa said that critics of the President Rodrigo Duterte's administration have been benefiting and enjoying the peace and order as a result of the intensified drug crackdown.

"Wala akong specific person basta kung i-criticize n'yo kami tanggap namin 'yan, tanggap namin kayo. Pero ako naman bumwelta rin ako sa inyo, ingrato ka, nakikinabang ka sa peace and order," said Dela Rosa.

[I am not referring to anyone; we will accept all you and your criticisms. But I will get back to you, you are ingrate. You are benefiting from peace and order.]

"Mga anak mo sarap, pumapasok ng eskwelahan, walang kaba, walang takot dahil bihira na ang krimen sa kalsada dahil sa war on drugs tapos ngayon tinitira n'yo kami," he added.

[Your children are going to school without you getting worried because street crimes have decreased because of the war on drugs then now you will denounce us.]

The PNP earlier said that based on records, all crimes including rape, physical injuries, carnapping, and kidnapping had reduced by 9.8 percent but admitted that the number of people killed had increased to more than 20 percent during the first year of President Rodrigo Duterte in office.
