DCPO gears up for Undas

-

AS All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days draw near, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) will start deploying personnel starting October 21, 2017 from their 12 stations in all cemeteries and areas of convergence in the city.

DCPO spokesperson Police Senior Supt. Ma. Teresita Gaspan told reporters yesterday that their plan for the two holidays has been completed and ready for implementation to ensure the safe observance despite the influx of people visiting their departed loved ones in cemeteries.

“Kasado na ang ating security preparations. Actually by October 21, our soft deployment will start for our personnel as some will take early vacation,” she said.

She said that a total of 1,800 personnel will be deployed in all the 58 public and private cemeteries in the city.

Full deployment will be on October 30.

Likewise, two company-sized personnel from the Police Regional Office’s (PRO 11’s) Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB) will be added as force multipliers.

Aside from that, there will also be Volunteer

Police Auxiliary, Task Force Davao, traffic groups, and other law enforcement units on November 1 and 2, 2017.

Gaspan emphasized that they will not only focus on cemeteries but also on vital installations, areas of convergence and strategic areas like airports, seaports, terminals, churches, and malls.

DCPO will also establish a Command post and Police Assistance Desk in key areas to cater to the concerns of the public.

Meanwhile, she reminded the public who are planning to visit the graves of their loved ones to refrain from bringing prohibited items like bladed weapon, firearms, alcoholic drinks or explosives.
