'Paskuhan' talks should be with San Fernando
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda on Wednesday said that talks on the sale of Paskuhan Village should be directed to City Government of San Fernando after the Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability of the House of Representatives recommended the nullification of its controversial sale between the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (Tieza) and Premier Central Incorporated.
“San Fernando has made its comments [during the hearing]. That is enough. The Register of Deeds has already given a collatilla on the title of Paskuhan which lies in San Fernando. So, San Fernando na ang kausap nila,” Governor Pineda told SunStar Pampanga.
She added that they have already filed their appeal before, which appears in the House Committee’s 13-page report.
As early as 2009, the Pampanga Mayors' League issued a resolution to negotiate and enter into an agreement with the Department of Tourism to acquire jurisdiction and management over the facility, the report noted.
On December 4, 2014, the Provincial Government also offered to purchase the village at book value or based on current prevailing market value to reactivate the facility as venue for promoting the tourism industry of the province, according to the report. SS-Pampanga
