Kalma lang, it’s just a launch

-

TODAY at 10 a.m. will be the launch of tha Tapang At Malasakit Alliance for the Philippines at the Marquis Events Place in BGC, Taguig City.

As Davao City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio, who has confirmed her attendance, said in a post on her social media account, she is not expecting a big gathering. “Kalma lang, this is just the launch in a small venue. We will go to you if you cannot make it. Huwag magpanic. Happy weekend! #TapangMalasakit,” she wrote. A check online of Marquis would show that indeed, it cannot host an event with more than 1,500 persons.

Its Grand Ballroom’s set-up capacity is described as 1,000 persons for a banquet setup, 816 for classroom type, 1,500 persons for a theater setup, and also 1,500 for a cocktail set-up. Apparently, Mayor Duterte-Carpio is telling her 383,799 followers on Facebook that this is not a rally where everybody can expect to be participating in. As she said, “Kalma lang.”

In a press release, Tapang at Malasakit Alliance for the Philippines described itself as “the umbrella organization of all groups who supported Rodrigo Duterte when he ran for President and pledged to be unrelenting even after he was installed as the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines.”

Not much else is known of the group, apparently because it is still going to be launched. But that it vows to support the President unrelentingly, it gives that feeling of comfort and stability to a nation that is being rocked by a concentrated group of oppositionists who are actively going in and out of the country to spread their alternative truth.

It is times like this when people just have to bond together, not as mere campaigners but as citizens who have given their votes to a vision they believed in and a vision that are hoping to be delivered within the short years of a Philippine President. The vision was very simple and clear: a country free of illegal drugs, a government free of corruption, and yes, a federal form of government.

So much time has been wasted swatting off the noisy few. It is time to just march on and help government deliver what it has vowed to.

Just a reminder to people though: police your ranks and make sure that there will be no forces of individual who will weave his or their personal interests into the movement for a better nation. It helps to always be vigilant against those who cannot see beyond what’s in it for them as we try to move forward and rebuke graft and corruption in any form it takes.
