600 expected to join 'Handuraw’
MORE than 600 guests and visitors are expected to participate in Malagos Garden Resort’s ‘Mga Handuraw sa Baul’, the company’s horrorspecial activity showcasing the country’s mythical creatures and folktales.
During the weekly press conference at Habi at Kape, Abreeza Ayala Malls yesterday, October 18, Malagos Garden Resort marketing officer Kirvy Waga said with the Handuraw sa Baul, which will be held on October 28, 2017, they target to expand their market reach to include the millenials as the garden resort had been known to be a family destination.
“The objective of the event is to commemorate the Filipino traditional way of celebrating Halloween which is sharing of ghost stories which highlight the Filipino mythical creatures. We’re doing this through promotion of local arts, in forms of music, cuisine, films, visual arts, calligraphy, and more. The event is part of the company’s advocacy to support local arts,” said Malagos Garden Resort marketing officer Kirvy Waga.
Handuraw sa Baul, translated as Memories from the Treasure Box, will be on October 28 and will feature performances by artists such as Crwn, She’s Only Sixteen, Clara Benin, Jess Connelly, and Jensen and the Flips as well as Davao-based artists Anne Mendoza and RJ Manulid.
The event will also feature a horror house with Philippine mythical creatures theme, a little different from last year’s urban horror setting. Davao Ngilngig films will also premiere on the said night while outside the main venue will be a showcase of different food stalls, local arts, and merchandise bazaars.
Crafts and clothing bazaars, food stalls, resort attractions, and a neon-themed perya open by 10 a.m. A Halloweenthemed trivia game and a calligraphy workshop will also be done on the afternoon. They will also have a trick-or-treat activity for kids.
